Use of iron heat

It is an effective method for the removal of white spots from the surface. For this process, you need a white and soft towel.

The paper towel must not be too thick or too thin. You should use a cotton towel; the other fabric may cause stickiness with iron and slip from the surface.

First off, clean the table by using a damp cloth and remove any dust and dirt. Next, place a white towel on the stained area and fully cover them. Next, turn on the iron slightly on medium heat and move it on the towel.

You should continuously move them on the top side don’t stay the iron at one point; otherwise, it will cause more burning.

When spots are so hard, and you should not remove them by simple heat iron method. Then turn on the steam of iron and slightly enhance their temperature.

It is better to apply a little steam for a short time to prevent more damages. You should do this process 2 to 3 times until the surface becomes clear.

When you completely restore the table varnish, apply the finishing polish to maintain its shine and smoothness.

Use a mixture of toothpaste and baking soda

It is a homemade and cost-effective remedy to repair the table varnish with heat damage.

These all things are readily available in your home. In addition, you can use this method because toothpaste is mildly abrasive, and its alkaline nature helps remove spots.

It is essential to take care that you should use gel toothpaste instead of non-gel toothpaste. Take 10 to 15 tablespoons of toothpaste and add an equal amount of baking soda to them.

You can exceed or reduce this quantity according to the size of the spot and its condition. Use a stirrer and mix the toothpaste and baking soda to make a thick paste.

Before applying this paste, clean the table if some oil or grease is present on them. Now, use the thick paste to the spotted area.

Take a clean microfiber cloth and sponge to rub the surface. Scrub the top side for 5 to 6 minutes by using the fabric.

You can do this procedure 2 to 3 times until you repair the varnish. Then, apply some oily polish on them to restore the scrubbing marks, making the tabletop slightly rough.

Now apply the paste to the spotted area and rub it with the cloth. Rub it for 5 to 6 minutes, and then leave the paste here for 10 to 12 minutes.

It will be better to rub the stains against the direction of the wood grain.

After that time, remove the paste by using a paper towel. If the cloudy burn marks disappear, apply some wax and buff it with a cloth to seal the surface.

If the spots are not repaired completely, you should repeat the above process before sealing it with wax.

Use Mayonnaise and petroleum jelly on table top varnish

Mayonnaise and petroleum jelly both are oily products that you can use to remove cloudiness from the tabletop.

Mayonnaise contains vegetable oil which, seeps the moisture and removes cloudiness.

Petroleum jelly also contains the mineral spirit, glycerin, and lanoline, which repair varnish and create the barrier to moisture entry.

You can also use Vaseline instead of petroleum jelly; both are the same.

Take 2 to 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise and mix it with 1 to 2 tablespoons of petroleum jelly.

After 24 to 26 hours, remove the paste by using a rag. Before removing the paste, rub it in the direction of wood grain for 1 to 2 minutes.

If the varnish does not repair completely, then do this process again. In the end, apply the linseed oil alone again to restore its original shine and silkiness.

This process is effective in repairing the polyurethane finish wood, which is damaged by heat. You can collect the cigarettes ash or coal ash for this process.

The lemon juice acts as a mild abrasive due to citric acid, and the ash will absorb the moisture and remove the white spots from the surface.

Make a thick paste by mixing the ash and lemon juice. However, don’t add too much lemon juice; the paste becomes thin and will not correctly stick on the top’s surface.

Apply this mixture to the spotted area using a spatula and leave it for 22 to 24 hours.

Now, apply another coat of wooden furnishes on them; it contains the oil used to make them shiny.

In the end, seal the top surface by buffing it with wax or wooden sealants.

The heat marks are the marks of entrapped moisture in pores, so you can also use a hairdryer to repair them.

The hairdryer contains heated air, making the surface dry and repairing the varnish by getting rid of cloudiness.

You can use this method if the burn marks are present in a short area and are light.

You can also try a blow dryer; it will also spread warm air on them. Turn on the switch of the hairdryer and first move it on a small patch.

Keep your hairdryer in the direction of the stained area vertically. Then, you can apply it to repair the varnish completely.

After this, apply the olive oil to prevent cracking due to hot air and dryness.
