How to Remove Liquid Bandage From Furniture?

A liquid bandage can fall accidentally on your furniture and affect its shiny surface. Many people consider it challenging to clean it from a wooden surface because it becomes hard.

How to Remove Liquid Bandage From Furniture? You can remove the liquid bandage from furniture by applying baby oil or using ice cubes. In addition, acetone breaks its adhesive property, and you can use rubbing alcohol to completely wipe out the remaining residues.

It is essential to select a suitable cleaning product according to the type of furniture. You can use DIY methods if the liquid bandage falls on the fabric cover of the furniture. Chemical-based products are beneficial to use on wood and plastic.

Using Baby oil

A liquid bandage is an adhesive that you use to keep the torn parts of a wound together. It is a colorless glue-type material that makes a film on the injury to prevent the edges of torn skin.

Sometimes it falls on the furniture accidentally when you apply it on the skin. It sticks to the furniture surface and becomes hard with time.

You need not worry about its removal because you can do it without assistance. Applying baby oil is a cost-effective strategy to get rid of this sticky glue.

You can select any good quality baby oil from the nearby store or just use the oil your baby is already using.

You can also use baby shampoo if the other one is not available at the moment. Apply some drops on the affected portion according to the size of the affected area.

You can use 2 to 3 drops if the bandage is not so large. You have to use 4 to 5 drops of oil on the furniture area.

Rub it in a circular motion for about 7 to 8 minutes with the help of a small piece of cloth and remove it with a clean soft towel.

Apply Acetone

You can remove a liquid bandage faster from the furniture when you use a chemical-based compound to clean it. The reason behind its use is that it softens the bandage and breaks its connecting material.

It removes easily when you carefully follow all steps to clean it. Acetone is a kind of nail polish remover that works by softening and dissolving the bandage.

You have to soak a cotton ball into its solution and place it on the surface. Leave it on the surface for about 1 to 2 minutes and wait for 1 minute.

Scrap it off gently with the help of a fine scraper in an upward and downward direction. You can use more acetone to get the best desirable results. Repeat the process until you get clean furniture.

Apply Rubbing alcohol

Sometimes you apply a product to get rid of a liquid bandage, but it does not completely wipe it out. As a result, your furniture looks ugly due to its remaining residues.

You have to use another product to remove all residues and regain its original shine and look. This is because it loses adhesive power with time because its connecting seal becomes weakened.

You can use rubbing alcohol for this purpose because it can clean all residues, even the smallest ones from its surface.

It can remove all kinds of adhesive material when used appropriately onto the affected area.

Soak some cotton in it and apply in a circular motion of the bandage. You can also put it in the form of spray by putting it in a spray bottle to get full coverage.

You have to do it for about 6 to 7 minutes until all small particles separate from their surface. Use a wet microfiber towel to wipe all particles and to get a clean and smooth furniture surface.

Use of ice cubes

You can use some cost-effective methods to remove this bandage that does not burden your budget. For example, it is better to keep water in a small ice cube dish in the refrigerator.

Take it out when the ice becomes extremely firm and hard. Wash the surface with the help of a clean brush and let it dry.

Wrap an ice cube into a piece of cloth and tighten it. Place it over the surface and rotate it on the affected portion.

Apply gentle pressure and scrub it in a circular motion. It makes it brittle and breaks its adhesive property to get the desired results. Keep cleaning for about 10 to 20 minutes until the bandage peels off.

You can easily pull it off from the furniture surface and make it clear. You can also use a knife with soft edges to scrap it from the surface. However, it is better to use other methods before trying it because it is a slow process.

Vinegar and baking soda

You should always use the DIY method before purchasing any product from a nearby store. It saves money and does not damage your furniture because of its organic nature.

It helps you to keep more focus on your task and to make you independent. Chemical-based products can damage wood to some extent.

Vinegar has a significant ability to remove adhesive products from a surface. You can add baking soda to maximize its effects and to get rid of all the residues.

Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda to 4 spoons of vinegar and mix it. Take a microfiber brush and dip it into the solution from all sides. Place it onto the hard liquid bandage and start to move it in changing directions.

Move it in a circular motion and then in a downward and upward direction to fully cover the affected area. It is better to dip it again into the solution when it starts to dry.

Apply this for 10 to 15 minutes and wipe out all residues from its surface with the help of a wet towel.

You can apply furniture polish on the surface to regain the shine if you feel its color becomes dull or less shiny.
